Victoria Group employees in a volunteer action “Our Belgrade”
Victoria Group employees have participated in a major volunteer action called “Our Belgrade”, which took place in Kalemegdan on 1 June organised by the Business Leaders Forum.
About three hundred employees from more than 12 companies tidied up Belgrade’s favourite Kalemegdan Park and brightened up the day for orphans and people with disabilities. Volunteers participated in creative workshops, played football and basketball on the courts of the Partizan Basketball Club and visited the Zoo together with the residents of the Shelter for Street Children and the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj and Moša Pijade homes for orphans, pupils from the Dušan Dugalić school and users of the Creative and Educational Centre for People with Learning Difficulties. The other group of volunteers restored the benches, bins and children’s playground in Kalemegdan. Michael Kirby, the U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade, also joined the volunteers.
A large quantity of food and clothes was also collected for the most vulnerable citizens of Belgrade. Besides Victoria Group, the following companies also took part in the volunteer action: Atlantic Group, Banca Intesa, Coca-Cola Hellenic, the State Lottery of Serbia, Eurobank EFG, Holcim Serbia, KPMG, Mercator-S, Nestle Adriatic, Société Générale Bank and VIP Mobile.
The action’s slogan was Volunteering Makes Us Better, and in this respect we thank all our colleagues who dedicated their time to this very goal.
